Travel Tips for Exploring Bali

Getting around: Use Grab or Gojek for affordable, reliable point-to-point rides. For full-day excursions, hire a private car with driver (~IDR 400,000–600,000/day) through your hotel.
Best time to visit temples: Arrive early morning (before 9 AM) to avoid crowds and midday heat. Sunset is ideal for Tanah Lot and Uluwatu.
Temple dress code: A sarong (wrap) and sash must be worn at all Hindu temples. These are usually available for rent or loan at the entrance.
Weather in October: Bali transitions into its wet season. Expect 27–32°C with occasional afternoon showers — mornings are ideal for outdoor activities.
Currency: Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). Carry some cash for entrance fees, street food, and local markets. ATMs are widely available in Kuta.
Photography: Bali is extremely photogenic. Golden hour (6–7 AM and 5–6 PM) offers the best light for temples, rice terraces, and beaches.
Safety: Bali is generally very safe for tourists. Keep valuables secure at the beach, watch out for monkeys at Monkey Forest (they can snatch bags), and use sunscreen.
